Shortland Golf Club is one of the most unique golf experiences in the Portland area. The short par 3 course features 19 pristine holes with synthetic turf tees, greens and bunkers and is a great time for golfers of all skillsets. To compliment the main course, Shortland will also be home to a 19 hole chip and putt (or sip and chip if you prefer!) that will have tees for chipping as well as putting to ensure a unique experience with every round. We’ll also offer a 10,000 square foot natural grass putting green where you can work the flat stick or challenge friends to putt for the dough.

THE PRACTICE GREEN
Synthetic turf is great but sometimes you just want the real thing. Shortland Golf Club’s 10,000 square foot natural grass practice putting green will be ideal for working the flat stick while you have some down time. Drive for show, putt for the dough.
Sustainability
The course at Shortland Golf Club is built using synthetic turf for tees, greens and even bunkers. Natural grass greens demand significant amounts of water and chemical treatments to maintain their quality, even more so during the high-traffic, warmer months. In contrast, synthetic turf requires no water and drastically cuts down the need for dangerous chemicals, contributing to water conservation efforts and reducing the ecological footprint of golf courses.
Along with the ecological advantages of our synthetic turf, the surrounding landscape design features native grasses and plants that will require very little water and will be allowed to go dormant during the summer, lowering our footprint even further. These areas also provide a familiar habitat for native wildlife including our little Shorty bird ;).
